Tam Magdaleno’s Blog bio picture

Welcome!!! Take a look around. This is where I sneak peek clients sessions or share events from my life. I am constantly updating my blog, so check back often to see what new and exciting things are happening with me, my family and my photography.

A little about me. I am first and foremost a mother to a wonderful little boy and a sweet little schnauzer.  I am a full time mom and professional photographer.  I was born in Viet Nam, my parents and I immigrated to the United States when I was three.  When my parents and I left Viet Nam they didn't bring any photos with them. I have no idea what I looked like when I was an infant or toddler.  The youngest photo that I own of myself is at 5 years old.  I always wonder what I looked like as a baby.   This is one of the main reasons why I specialize in pregnancy and newborn photography.

I am a self taught photographer.  I've always been fascinated by the power of photos. There are no words to describe the joy that I feel when I am capturing life's fleeting moments through the lens of my camera. I love how photos have the ability to capture emotions where words cannot, along with all of the mystery and beauty of life.  Photographs isolate the truth, and preserve it for an eternity.  I love what I do!!!  Now let's preserve your family's history.

Please take a minute to visit my website and look at my portfolios.  If you like what you see and would like to book a session or have any questions for me, please email me by clicking on the "Contact Tam" link above.

Russ. Melani.

What a treat to photograph Russ and Melani the day before Valentines Day.  During our session they were so sweet to each other, whispering sweet nothings to one another, and kissing.  They are truly in love.  It was a honor to capture the bond between the two of them!!!

something different.

So a couple of weeks ago I participated in a photography shoot out, the theme was Rock-a-billy pin ups.  I had a great time meeting some AH-mazing photographers!!!

It was a nice change to not get pee-ed and poo-ed on, although I really don’t mind it, since my lil’ subjects are the most adorable lil’ ones.  It is always a blessing to meet them and create memories for their loving family’s.

Here are some images  from that shoot out!  Enjoy!

.face lift.

Hey all!

My website got a face lift….it displays larger images, a different layout, and color scheme.  I’m trying to keep things fresh!  New year, new fun shhtuff!!!

Just for fun here’s a pic of week 5 of 52 of  The 52 Project…stay tuned for more!!!

Happy New Year!!! Better late than never.

Hello to ya!  I hope your 2010 has been great so far!

I’ve neglected my poor blog.  One of my New Year’s Resolutions is to post something once a week, more if possible.  I am so glad to see 2009 go Bye Bye!!! I’ve got so much planned for this year, I am extremely excited.  I look forward to a wonderful year creating memories for some fantastic family’s who will inevitably become great friends.  Thank you so much, to all of my past clients I hope to capture more memories for you and your family in 2010!

I joined this group on Facebook, called “The 52 Project”, where I take a photo of my son every week for 52 weeks.  Of course, I can never take just one photo, I am a photographer after all…sadly to say, when you are the child of a photographer, sometimes you don’t get photographed as much as you should be.  Shame Shame on mommy. I should know better right?  So I am changing my ways, hopefully this will translate into a photo of him every week until he goes off to college.  We’ll see…..here is an image from my session with my lil’ man from yesterday for “The 52 Project”.

Amanda Robinson - That is such a precious picture, thank you for sharing Tam!

Mama Mia she’s gorgeous! San Diego Maternity Photographer, Newborn Photographer

Meet little Miss Mia. It took some patience to get these sleeping shots….Mia is extremely alert and so aware of her surroundings.  I think one of the most alert newborns I’ve met this far!  Congrats mom and dad!!!

Meet Max, 1 day short of 4 weeks. San Diego Maternity Photographer, Newborn Photographer

Meet Max…Max’s mom and Sebastian’s mom (past blog posts “Sexy Mama” & “Welcome Sebastian) are cousins.  These two adorable little men were born 1 week apart.  There are some great genes running through this family because neither one of the moms look like they just had babies less than a month ago.

Max is much more accustomed to our world now, since he is almost a month NEW.  So he didn’t sleep much through out our session, but we got some great shots anyways.  It turned out to be a great session, I only got pee-ed on twice, dad once and mom got a little gas toot from Max.  Like I said, “It all comes with the territory when you are working with a naked baby”.  Nothing a little Dreft won’t take care of.  :-)

Mom and Dad, you both were so patient today.  It was really a pleasure to meet you guys!!!  Dad I’m glad you hung in there in the “sauna”.  Congratulations to you both.  He is a very handsome little man.  I look forward to meeting the rest of your family, and seeing how much more Max has grown in a couple of months!!!

Here are some photos of your little munckin ASLEEP!

Another angel has been sent home to heaven. Newborn Photographer, San Diego Maternity Photographer, San Diego Newborn Photographer

I did another NILMDTS session.  I was blessed to meet another little angel and his wonderful family.  Baby D is so so perfect, a beautiful little boy, he lived for 2 minutes after being welcomed into our world.  Those two precious fleeting moments were shared with his loving mommy and daddy.  Thank you GOD for blessing me with the opportunity to capture Baby D through your gift of photography.

To all who stop by my blog and reading this post, please take a moment to pray for strength for this family through this very difficult time.  Thank you.

Baby D  Thank you for blessing us with your presence, no matter how short your stay here was.  You have definitely left an imprint on my heart.
